Before I coached principals, before I professed at the university, I was a mother looking at a brilliant Black child and asking: where is the education worthy of him? When I could not find it, I built it. I founded Uhuru Shule, an independent school for students in Chicago’s Bronzeville community, and I have spent years designing personalized learning, at home and beyond, grounded in the research on how children flourish.
Now I bring that same architecture to your family. Not a worksheet packet. Not enrichment shopping. A thoughtful, research-grounded plan built around who your child actually is: their gifts, their culture, their curiosities, and your family’s deepest goals for them.

A monthly virtual circle for parents of children ages 3 to 14, on school choice, child development, and planning our children’s futures, with culture and community at the center. Eight monthly Saturday sessions on Zoom, November to June, in a small circle of parents who share your hopes. Leave in June with a one-page family education plan and your own school short list. Single sessions $20.

How it works
- Discover. You complete the Whole Child Questionnaire. It helps me see your child the way you see them: whole, brilliant, and becoming.
- Dream and design. We meet for a 75 minute family conference to walk through your child’s Developmental Snapshot and get precise about your goals. Within two weeks, you receive a personalized learning plan your family can actually live: activities, materials, mentors, and a weekly rhythm matched to your time and your values.
- Do, together. We meet often at the start, because that is when new rhythms need the most tending, and then we settle into a seasonal pace that respects your family’s life: check-ins every four to six weeks in the first quarter, then quarterly reviews, with a full refresh each year.
- Grow in community. The Parent Circle gathers monthly on Zoom from November to June, because parents building intentional learning lives for their children should not build alone.
Who this is for
Families who believe their child is capable of more than their current setting is asking of them. I bring particular depth to families of gifted Black children navigating schools that were not built for them, and I welcome every family ready to build intentionally at home.
Questions families ask
What ages do you work with?
Children ages 3 to 14. The questionnaire and every plan are calibrated to your child’s age band, because a strong plan for a 4 year old looks nothing like a strong plan for a 12 year old.
Does this replace school?
No. Most families use it alongside public, private, or homeschool settings. The plan is built around your child’s current setting and adds what that setting is not providing.
How much time does this ask of our family?
The plan is built around the time you actually have. Some families commit two hours a week, others more. You tell me your real capacity in the questionnaire, and the plan respects it.
What exactly do we receive with Foundations?
Your child’s Developmental Snapshot, a 75 minute family conference, a personalized learning plan delivered within two weeks, two check-in sessions while the plan takes root, a reading list paired to our sessions, and a Parent Circle Season Pass.
How does the Parent Circle work?
We meet on Zoom one Saturday a month, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Central, from November to June. Each session adds a page to your family’s education plan, and you work in the same small parent group all season. The Season Pass is $120 per family, single sessions are $20, and every coaching family is included at no cost. See the full season.
Is this an evaluation or therapy?
No. This is a coaching and educational design service. It does not evaluate or diagnose. If your child has evaluations you would like me to see, simply bring them to our conference.
Continuing together: The Partnership · $250 per month
For families continuing beyond Foundations: a monthly 45 minute check-in, plan updates as your child grows, email access between sessions, and the Parent Circle Season Pass included.
Ready to begin? Start with the questionnaire
The Whole Child Questionnaire is the first step of the Foundations Package. Most families finish in 25 to 35 minutes, and there are no wrong answers. Once you submit it, I begin preparing your child’s Developmental Snapshot and reach out within two business days to schedule our family conference.
